Authorities called to a freight yard in West Melbourne over a chemical leak have discovered it was just water condensation.
Specialist crews were called in when staff at the yard noticed what looked like a leak after a container was moved in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The container was placed within bunds and an exclusion zone was set up.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and splash suits opened the container only to discover the leak was condensation off the plastic wrapping of the product inside.
The incident was declared under control after three hours.
